With the technology improvement on Internet of Thing (IoT), big data, intelligence and automation applications, it is paving the way to the forth evolution of the industry. Meanwhile, the printing industry has also its own style of evolution, in order to meet the market demand.
“The 13th Annual General Meeting cum Industry Seminar” organized by Institute of Print-Media Professionals (IPP) was held on 28 September 2018 at Innocentre in Kowloon Tong, themed with “Printing Industry 4.0 Application Forum”. Canon Hongkong was invited to be one of the speakers for the seminar.
During the event, Mr. Philip Chan, Director and General Manager of Business Imaging Solution & Production Printing Group shared the outstanding areas in terms of innovation, intelligence and leadership. The speed of inkjet printing has been further improved, which significantly enhance enterprises’ operational efficiency as well as market competitiveness. Customers are able to create collaborative intelligent message. Interactions from online to offline (O2O) makes digitalized businesses achievable, allowing ones’ unique advantages to spread over various channels to reach the target segments. Besides, the short-run printing of digital inkjet is considered as the common target of both publishers and printers, which in turn elevates their capabilities of leadership individually. Furthermore, inkjet printer also confronted difficulties of several aspects, reproducing the ancient Chinese art - dragon scale bookbinding version of classic Chinese literatures such as “Tang Poetry” and “Analects of Confucius” by printing on rice paper and imitating this traditional dragon scale bookbinding. They have also showcased in occasional exhibition at China Printing Museum. It can be seen that inkjet printing has been reached another level.
