    Revisit the highlights of Canon’s “Power to Move” booth at drupa 2024 and explore boundless inspiration in the era of modern printing. On 20 June 2024, Canon Hongkong organized the “reconnect… drupa next age” event at Canon Business Experience Center. As Mr. Kazuhiro Ozawa, the President and CEO of Canon Hong Kong mentioned in his welcome approach, this event aim to collectively shape the next age of printing, and the dynamic exchange of latest market trend and technologies is always encouraged.

At the once-in-four-years drupa exhibition, Canon’s “Power to Move” booth showcased an extensive portfolio of top-notch printing systems, solutions, and technologies. Aiming to aims to drive positive change through entire printing industry ecosystems, aligning with the emerging trend of Industry 4.0 and integration of AI.

    The panel discussion and sharing session explored the latest development and market trend that was showcased at drupa. The sharing mainly shed light on Print Transformation, Workflow & Automation, Labels & Packaging, and Sustainability.

    Print Transformation: Digital inkjet printing enables flexible value-added personalization, and the introduction of sheet entry control, auto maintenance, inline quality control, revolutionize the technology of printing.

    Workflow & Automation: In a view of labour shortage in printing industry, the incorporation of automation, AI, and robotic arm can maximize the production efficiency for shortest run-lengths, avoid costly errors and enable centralization of administration and reporting. To ensure a seamless integration with existing workflow solutions in the market, the best practice is to pay attention to the compatibility of the management system of data, color, material.

    Labels & Packaging: As labels and packaging have indirect contact with the food, and heance the label press should comply with food safety standards.

    Sustainability: Production and operation of presses can be powered from renewable sources, such as solar panels, water-based inkjet technology, and print without ozone emission.

    Finishing: By incorporating sensors systems and implementing data connectivity enables real-time monitoring of production progress, significantly helps job scheduling and material preparation.

    Web-to-Print: Web-to-Print is an indispensable component of digital transformation and Industry 4.0. It enables the automation of prepress tasks, such as placing order and uploading design files.

    Finally, we ended the event with a cocktail party, which aims to facilitate positive interactions and idea exchanges among local printing industry, providing a relaxed atmosphere for our guest to mingle and expand their social network.
