Hong Kong Printing and Publishing Media Industry Workers Union Seminar
Canon Hongkong organized “Hong Kong Printing and Publishing Media Industry Workers Union (HKPPMIWU) Seminar” on 27 October 2018, themed as “Digital Printing Workflow and Solutions for Current Market Needs”. Appropriate management solution under the digital printing generation was investigated during the seminar. Embracing a new operation module might be effective and able to capture future business opportunities. HKPPMIWU members also visited the four experience zones in Canon Business Experience Center, experienced difference printing technologies and business solutions.
Offset printing was dominant among the printing industry. However, it allows only single design production while requires equipment for post processing, making the overall cost relatively higher than other printing system. Offset printing has its limitation yet lacks flexibility due to its operation, digital printing has therefore become the trend within the industry. Furthermore, short-run printing is preferred nowadays, which could be largely helped by digital printing in terms of cost and stock control. In addition, variable data and secure print that inspired by the digital printing market added extra values and improved the security level of different types of printed matter, which creates infinite business opportunities for enterprises in the printing industry. Corporations can utilize digital printing on extraordinary designs and customization as well, so as to elevate the market competitiveness of printing and publishing customers.
Mr. Philip Chan, Director and General Manager of Business Imaging Solution & Production Printing Group, Canon Hongkong, delivered his opening speech at the “Hong Kong Printing and Publishing Media Industry Workers Union Seminar”.

The event allowed participants to understand the functionalities and capabilities of CW3700, as well as experienced the different features of the four experience zones in Canon Business Experience Center.
