Canon HK Organized the second Blood Donation Day This Year
Every few seconds, someone needs a blood transfusion. According to the sharing of the NewYork-Presbyterian expects, Blood donation not only helps recipients but also offers health benefits for the donors themselves. Through a health screening before blood donation, potential health problems would be revealed. Regular blood donation also brings other benefits, such as lower blood pressure and a lower risk for heart attacks.
Canon Hongkong Company Limited (Canon HK) organizes Blood Donation Day 3 times a year, to encourage eligible colleagues to be regular donors to sustain an adequate blood supply. On 9th July, Canon HK organized the second Blood Donation Day and invited Canon Electronic Business Machines (H.K.) Co., Ltd. (Canon EBM) to join and show our support to Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service (BTS) together. This year, a total of 55 packs of qualified blood have donated to the BTS.
In the time of the pandemic, Canon HK has arranged extra precautions to protect the safety of participants, for example, wearing masks, checking temperature, cleaning hands with alcohol sanitizer and keeping safe distances between the beds.
