Canon Hong Kong Corporate Volunteer Team Gives Out Free Meal Boxes and Fortune Bags to the Needy
Whilst the epidemic has slightly eased, the underprivileged is struggling to recover. As a corporate citizen in Hong Kong, Canon Hongkong Company Limited (Canon HK) encourages staff to lend a helping hand to those in need. On 5 June 2021, Canon Corporate Volunteer Team joint hand with Kitchee Volunteer Team to give out free meal boxes and fortune bags in Mongkok community. Followed by the second distribution on 21 August 2021, the team was delighted to share the love, care and positive energy with the community.
On the date of second distribution, 10 volunteers of Canon HK Corporate Volunteer Team assisted in packing 130 meal boxes in “Dignity Kitchen”, where is a restaurant operated by a social enterprise in Mongkok. In addition to give out the meal boxes, we also prepared 260 fortune bags, including instant macaroni, cereal, biscuits, drinking water and face masks, to relieve the financial pressure of purchasing epidemic prevention supplies and daily necessities for the underprivileged in the district.
A total of 280 meal boxes and 410 fortune bags were given out during the 2 distribution services. Throughout the service, we were able to express our care and blessings to the residents. We hope they can feel our support. Together, we fight against the epidemic and overcome the adversity.
Besides, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to our long-term logistics partner, Kerry Logistics for delivery arrangement of all food items in the fortune bags to support the community together.
To relieve the financial pressure of purchasing epidemic prevention supplies and daily necessities for the under privileged people in the district, the fortune bag included instant macaroni, cereal, biscuits, drinking water and face masks.
