Keep An Eye on Eyesight:
Canon Hong Kong in 17 Consecutive Years to Support Orbis World Sight Day
Held on the 2nd Thursday of each October, the theme of Orbis World Sight Day 2021 is “Keep An Eye On Eyesight”, which aims to raise public awareness of fighting globe blindness problem. This year, they would like to bring out the concern about eye floaters and the significant need to take better care of eyesight.
As a long-term partner with Orbis, Canon Hong Kong Company Limited (Canon HK) has been joining hands to support Orbis World Sight Day for 17 consecutive years. Through internal fundraising, we would like to gather resources and support Orbis medical team. Adhering to our corporate philosophy of “Kyosei”, 125 Canon HK staff raise fund of HK$13,160 and put on the special collectible Orbis World Sight Day Pin, such as ‘Vision’, ‘Love’, ‘Hope’ to promote the meaningful messages.
With the generous support from donors, the campaign has generated HK$5.27 million for Orbis’s sight-restoring initiatives. Over 200 companies and schools, nearly 11,000 Hongkongers have supported on Orbis World Sight Day 2021. On 28 October, Canon HK has been honored as the 4th Runner-up of Most Participants Organization Award on Orbis World Sight Day Award Ceremony. Every little makes a mickle, we hope to help more people struggling with eye diseases to discover this beautiful world with us. By doing our best to support World Sight Day, Orbis medical team could help to treat blindness and avoid unnecessary blindness.
