Canon Hong Kong is Honored to Receive the First Edition of Excellence Awards for E-waste Recycling & Management 2022 - Appreciation Award
In recognition of our contribution to e-waste recycling and sustainable development, Canon Hongkong Co., Ltd. (Canon Hong Kong) is delighted to be nominated by ALBA Integrated Waste Solutions (Hong Kong) Ltd. (ALBA IWS) and receive the first edition of the “Excellence Awards for E-waste Recycling & Management 2022 - Appreciation Award” on 19 August. The representatives from the Environmental Protection Department, Radio Association of Hong Kong and around 30 companies gathered and paid tribute to the awarded companies.
The Producer Responsibility Scheme on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WPRS) came into effect in 2018. Air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, televisions, computers, printers, scanners, and monitors are all included in the regulated electrical equipment (REE). ALBA IWS is a licensed recycler for the appropriate treatment and recycling of these regulated e-wastes, involved in recycling activities since the early stage of the Scheme, to encourage and advocate the public to participate. Its first edition of “Excellence Awards for E-waste Recycling & Management 2022” evaluates the performance of enterprises on the aspects of “Total Amount of E-waste”, “Growth Rate of E-waste” & “Electrical Appliance Donation”.
The Producer Responsibility Scheme turns waste onto recycling resources by providing a convenience platform, contributing to sustainable development and a zero e-waste Hong Kong. Canon Hong Kong is delighted that our efforts on the Scheme is being recognized by the award honored.
