Canon Hong Kong Co-organized Organic Farm Family Day Trip with World Green Organisation
Canon Hongkong Company Limited (Canon HK) has been encouraging staff to participate in different green activities, to enhance their awareness on environmental conservation. On 8th December 2019, 26 staff and their family members got away from the city to visit the HKFYA Organic Farm in Pat Heung, Yuen Long, co-organized by Canon HK and the World Green Organisation.
The event started with introduction on organic farming to get to know its benefits with a tour to the Organic Farm, in which every single element like fertilizer applied for plantation, water for irrigation, seedlings and ways of insect control which could greatly affect the quality of crops and the harvest. The visit was then followed by the farming trial, all participants could experience plowing the field, loosening the soil and removing the weed.
Last but not the least, participants joined the vanilla salt workshop, by using the herbs picked from the farm, and combining with sea salt, polishing and making the vanilla salt for bathing; as a valuable treat, the team is offered to buy fresh and organic vegetables grown in the farm and shared with family.
