    Act for Greener Future: Canon Hong Kong participated in Plantation Enrichment Program for the 4th time

    Canon Hongkong Co., Ltd. (Canon HK) has been actively involved in environmental protection activities and contributes to a sustainable community. One of those activities is preserving the country parks in Hong Kong by supporting the Tree Planting Project.

    This year is the fourth time Canon HK joined the Plantation Enrichment Program, partnering with The Green Earth. It was held on 18 May at Tai Lam Country Park. Canon HK formed a corporate volunteer team with 39 colleagues, including members from Canon Engineering Hong Kong Co., Ltd. (CEHK) and Canon Electronic Business Machines (H.K.) Co., Ltd. (CEBM), and was led by the President & CEO of Canon HK, Mr. Kazuhiro Ozawa, the Managing Director of CEHK, Mr. Ishizawa Katsumi, and the President of CEBM, Mr. Keiichi Wakabayashi. With relentless efforts from the overall team, 150 local species seedlings has been planted at the tree planting site.

    After the service, Mr. Ozawa said, ‘We do love to see colleagues enroll and join the tree planting day, which pragmatically contributes to environmental protection. It is not an easy task as it requires the selfless contribution from the volunteer team. I am proud of the colleagues who joined the tree planting activity today.”

    The “Plantation Enrichment Program” is initiated by The Agricultural, Fisheries and Conservation Department, which aims at increasing the biodiversity and ecological value in Hong Kong country parks. Participants planted local origin species seedlings that can provide appropriate food and shelter to native wildlife and thus enhance the biodiversity of the overall country environment, contributing to the sustainable development of nature.The Canon HK Corporate Volunteer Team supported the “Plantation Enrichment Program” in 2018, 2021, 2023 and 2024 respectively. Through years of contributions, the company mobilized 143 volunteers and planted 610 local seedlings in Clearwater Bay Country Park and Tai Lam Country Park.

    The Corporate Volunteer Team formed with 39 members from Canon HK, CEBM and CEHK successfully completed the 4th participation in the Plantation Enrichment Program.
