Canon Hong Kong Honored with “Caring Company” Recognition for the 21st Consecutive Year in Recognition of Long-Term Commitment to Community Care

Canon Hongkong Company Limited (Canon Hong Kong) has always been committed to the corporate philosophy of "Kyosei". Over the years, we have been working closely with various charitable organizations to participate in diverse community services and leveraging imaging technology for social good. Through concrete actions, we demonstrate long-standing and steadfast commitment to corporate social responsibility. This dedication has been widely recognized with Canon Hong Kong once again being nominated as a “Caring Company” for 2024–2025 and proudly receiving the “Caring Company” logo for the 21st consecutive year.

The "Caring Company" Scheme underwent a comprehensive revamp from 2025, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The new assessment framework covers four key pillars — Social Sustainability, Economic Sustainability, Environmental Sustainability and Partnership, encouraging a more holistic commitment to corporate sustainability. A new four-tier recognition system was also introduced to highlight the progressive achievements of companies in sustainable operations. This transformation aimed to localize international sustainability frameworks and establish clear participation benchmarks, guiding enterprises to create deeper and more lasting social impact.

In the past year, Canon Hong Kong's sustainability efforts have been highly commended by the community. Our overall score far exceeded the industry average for companies of similar scale. With outstanding achievements in Economic Sustainability, Environmental Sustainability, and Partnership, we were proud to be recognized with the 'Advanced Performance' level.

Canon Hong Kong received nominations from 8 organizations below (listed in no particular order):

  1. Arts with the Disabled Association Hong Kong
  2. Christian Family Service Centre Vital Employee Service Consultancy
  3.  Community Leap Limited
  4. Hong Kong Family Welfare Society
  5. Orbis Hong Kong
  6. The Green Earth
  7. World Wide Fund for Nature Hong Kong (WWF-HK)
  8. Yan Chai Hospital Social Services Department

Launched by The Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS) in 2002, the Caring Company Scheme aims to inspire continuous improvement in sustainable development and social impact across companies and organizations. According to official statistics from the HKCSS, participating organizations have collectively contributed over 1.83 million hours of volunteer service since the launch of the program. In the 2024–2025, more than 4,300 applications were received, with 3,500 companies and organizations ultimately being recognized. These figures highlight the strong commitment of Hong Kong’s corporate and institutional sectors to corporate social responsibility and their contributions to building a sustainable society.

Canon Hong Kong has been named a “Caring Company” for 21 consecutive years and, for the first time, has been awarded the “Caring Company – Advanced Performance” logo, in recognition of our continued outstanding performance across four key areas: Partnership, Social Sustainability, Economic Sustainability, and Environmental Sustainability.

Key initiatives included setting up instant photo-shooting and printing booths in supporting charitable activities. Examples including set up of photo taking booth at the Orbis Hong Kong “Walk for Sight Step into Color” charity walk, as well as providing professional ID photo services for the Yan Chai Hospital “Yan Chai Residence” and the Christian Family Service Centre “Cheerful Place”

Canon Hong Kong also regularly lends photography equipment to various community organizations to support their photography activities. Through photography, these initiatives help elderly people, young people, and individuals from different backgrounds cultivate meaningful interests and foster positive thinking.

As the corporate member of The Green Earth and WWF-HK, Canon Hong Kong Corporate Volunteer Team participated in various activities such as “Green Earth Night Walk", the tree survey to preserve the Mai Po Nature Reserve, promoting and embodying sustainable green living and the protection of biodiversity.

The Corporate Volunteer Team also collaborates with various charitable organizations to support people in need across the community. This includes partnering with Food Grace, the service unit under Community Leap on the “Share Soup with Love Day” to prepare nutritious soups for the elderly in Kwai Chung, as well as visiting elderly members of the Hong Kong Family Welfare Society during the Dragon Boat Festival to deliver festive care and warmth. Through these initiatives, the team promotes a spirit of compassion and helps build an inclusive and caring community.
