The RF 24mm f/1.8 Macro IS STM adopts a newly developed 11 elements in 9 groups optical design, incorporating 1 UD lens to correct chromatic aberration and 1 PMo aspherical lens positioned close to the image plane for excellent correction of curvature of field[1]. This lens also features a large-diameter lens element in the position closest to the focal plane by taking the advantage of the RF mount. As a result, it achieves corner-to-corner sharpness even at aperture fully open and reduces the size of the overall optical system. The RF 24mm f/1.8 Macro IS STM also employs Super Spectra Coating to prevent ghosting and flare, for high-quality images every time.
The lens’ f/1.8 large aperture, with a 9-blade circular aperture, allows users to create stunning portraits and close-up photos with shallow depth of field and beautiful background blur at ease. The bright large aperture also allows a faster shutter speed for easy capture of fast-moving subjects even in low-light environment. RF 15-30mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM – Compact Full Frame Ultra Wide Angle Zoom Lens with Image Stabilizer
The compact and lightweight RF 15-30mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM weighs only 390g and provides focal length from 15mm ultra-wide angle to 30mm wide angle which close to human eyes angle of view. Its 15mm ultra-wide angle focal length covers around 110o angle of view, allows to capture a wider view than 24mm focal length of standard zoom kit lens, also enables taking shots in confined space. RF 15-30mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM adopts a newly developed 13 elements in 11 groups optical design which incorporates 2 UD lenses to correct chromatic aberration throughout the zoom range and reducing color blurring, plus 1 PMo aspherical lens for high image quality at a compact lens size[6]. Taking the advantage of RF Mount’s large diameter and short back focus, a large-diameter lens is located at the rear to achieve higher image quality on the overall image area throughout the zoom range. The lens also features the renowned Super Spectra Coating and optimized shapes of lens elements to minimize ghosting and flare commonly seen in wide-angle lenses when shooting against bright light source. An optional Lens Hood EW-73E can be added to further enhance flare resistance.
The ultra-wide 15mm focal length of RF 15-30mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM covers a diagonal field of view of 110o, capturing more of the surroundings in a limited space or further emphasizing the perspective of a scene by getting closer. To maintain compactness and operability, a “Focus/Control Ring” is adopted to enable the use a single Ring as either “Focus Ring” for Full-time manual focusing or “Control Ring” for operation such as aperture, shutter speed, ISO speed or exposure compensation adjustment with a “Focus/Control Selector Switch” for easy switching.
