Canon Hong Kong enjoyed an eco-friendly Lunar New Year
through Waste Reduction, Reuse and Sharing
Canon Hongkong Co., Ltd. (Canon HK) strives to liaise various waste reduction programs in offices and ancillary premises to embrace green culture into daily life. Canon HK continuous to participate in the “Lai See Reuse and Recycle Program” organized by the Greeners Action and the “Lunar New Year Food Donation Program” in support of the Kindness Centre of St. James' Settlement. These annual programs positively nurture a good habit of reuse and recycling among colleagues, contribute to waste reduction and care to the needy with real action.
For 10 consecutive years, Canon HK has been participating in the “Lai See Reuse and Recycle Program” organized by Greeners Action to raise public awareness of reducing waste at source from every tiny part of life. Together with Canon Electronic Business Machines (CEBM) and Canon Engineering Hong Kong (CEHK), a total of 9,285 pcs of red packets have been collected from 18 February to 3 March. Collected red packets will be passed to Greeners Action and appeal to the public to reuse “renew red pocket”.
Meanwhile, Canon HK also called on colleagues to donate intact packaged food during the Lunar New Year. With the generous support of colleagues, altogether over 210 packs of food, not limited to food gift set, assorted food included noodles, canned food, cereal and biscuit have been collected during 16 – 26 February for donation to Kindness Centre from St. James' Settlement to share joy and blessing to underprivileged families for a better year of Ox.
