Annual Conference of In-house Lawyer 2025

The “Annual Conference of In-house Lawyer 2025,” organized by the Law Society of Hong Kong, concluded successfully on 24 September 2025. This year’s conference, themed “The Future of Lawyers: Innovation, Strategy, and Resilience,” brought together leaders from the political, legal, and technology sectors. Through a rich program of keynote speeches, panel discussions, and interactive workshops, participants explored how the legal industry can leverage innovative technology and integrate new strategies to inject fresh momentum into professional development.

As the digital partner of the conference for three consecutive years, Canon was invited by The Law Society of Hong Kong to deliver a keynote speech at the “Tech-for-All” session. We sincerely thank the Law Society of Hong Kong for their trust and support, which gave Canon the opportunity to share our latest breakthroughs in intelligent technology with the legal community. Canon representative delivered a seminar titled “Simplifying Legal Processes with AI Innovation,” providing an in-depth explanation of how innovative technology can reshape legal daily operations, introducing Canon’s latest AI solutions, covering cutting-edge technologies such as Agentic AI, GraphRAG, and Model Context Protocol (MCP), bringing new possibilities to legal departments.

Handling large volumes of documents and contract management has always been a challenge for in-house legal departments. For example, by using AI-powered multi-function devices, lawyers can automatically extract data, intelligently classify and archive documents, and easily handle handwritten files without the need for preset templates, significantly streamlining complex workflows.

In terms of contract management, the newly upgraded Intelligent Business Platform, AI Genie 2, can automatically understand contract content, identify key dates, efficiently manage multiple contracts, and automatically send renewal reminders. This helps legal teams reduce manpower and time costs, allowing them to focus on higher-value legal advisory. Additionally, AI document processing technology further enhances document archiving and retrieval, enabling lawyers to quickly and accurately find the information they need, thereby optimizing operational efficiency.

In addition to AI innovation, we also showcased our one-stop solutions. For example, Business Service Outsourcing can help lawyers securely and efficiently convert paper documents into high-quality, searchable electronic files, saving manpower and storage space while reducing the risk of document damage or loss. Canon also offers Smart Workplace Solutions, including Visitor Management, Room Booking, RFID Asset Management, and Reception Robot, further enhancing the modernization and intelligence of operations.

The 2025 Annual Conference of In-house Lawyers showcased the legal industry’s determination to embrace innovation and digital transformation. Canon will continue to focus on promoting smart and digital development in the legal sector, working hand in hand with the industry to create a more efficient, safer, and smarter future for the legal profession.
