Canon Hong Kong is Appreciated for the 19th Consecutive Years of Support for the “Rechargeable Battery Recycling Program”
Canon Hongkong Company Limited (Canon Hong Kong) has been awarded the certificate of appreciation for supporting the “Rechargeable Battery Recycling Program” organized by the Hong Kong Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Recycling Association (HKWRA) for the 19th consecutive year. The award ceremony was hosted at the Computer and Communications Festival on 23 August, commending organizations including Canon Hong Kong who are honoring its commitment on electronics recycling.
As an exigent and responsible manufacturer, Canon Hong Kong always adheres to the corporate philosophy of “Kyosei” and proactively works towards realizing a sustainable society. With this in mind, we have been supporting the “Rechargeable Battery Recycling Program” for the 19th consecutive year since 2005. As the first voluntary producer responsibility scheme in Hong Kong, the program is funded by suppliers, importers and retailers of rechargeable batteries and electrical / electronic equipment, bearing the shared responsibility to recycle rechargeable batteries. Aside from recycling programs with external partners and customers, we also arrange extensive internal recycling schemes to reduce the landfill burden, such as setting up recycling bins and organizing donation programs. Our relentless contributions in environmental conservation are highly perceived by different stakeholders including HKWRA.
This year, HKWRA hosted the “5G and Green Tech Zone” Exhibition for the 4th time to provide the public with advice on green technology and electronic devices recycling. Being at the forefront of imaging technologies and AI solutions, Canon Hong Kong also provided customers a comprehensive selection of document scanner during the Computer Festival, which help to digitalize documents, enhance productivity and streamline operations. Canon Hong Kong aims to continue with innovative green technology and solutions to help enterprises to adapt the ever-changing business landscape and thrive in the era of digital transformation.
