Due to the enthusiastic response to the “Generative AI Design: Unleashing Imagination” event, Canon Hong Kong Limited hosted another session on 8 November 2024. This time, the event was specifically tailored to educational needs, encompassing everything from fundamental design principles to advanced software operations. By leveraging Generative AI, the design process is simplified, and various techniques for designing and printing school materials are demonstrated, enabling teachers and students to effortlessly unleash their creativity.

The event was divided into three parts. First, Mr. Matthew Chau, a Certified Multimedia Educator, began by introducing important composition and layout principles. He also demonstrated various functionalities of generative design platforms that perfectly fit the needs of teachers and educators. These features include Text to Image, Generative Recolor, Text Effect, Generative Fill, and more. In the second session, Ms. Brenda Pang, Director of the Advanced Printing Technology Centre (APTEC), introduced the guests to various printing methods, basic color concepts, and manuscript requirements to optimize print quality. The aim was to help teachers design eye-catching teaching materials and school decorations with unprecedented efficiency and quality.

The final session was led by Mr. Antony Chan, Canon’s Product Consultant, and Mr. Kenny Lau, Manager of the Production Print Solution Department. They provided expert insights on selecting optimal printing systems for educational use and highlighted key considerations for equipment usage, and shared numerous successful cases in the education sector. Moreover, participants had the opportunity to experience Canon’s latest professional Large Format Printers, the imagePROGRAF PRO Series. This series features the new 12-color LUCIA PRO II pigment, capable of reproducing rich colors and details on diverse materials, while enhancing light resistance and scratch resistance, facilitating effortless post-print processing and mounting. Additionally, the imagePROGRAF GP series, achieves a 97% coverage rate on PANTONE PASTELS & NEONS GUIDE Coated color gamut, ensuring accurate color matching. Both series are ideal for producing high-quality teaching materials and posters, helping teachers and students bring their creative visions to life.
