Trade-In Program Terms and Conditions
1. Trade-In Program (“Program”) is operated by Canon Hongkong Company Limited (“Canon”) with Hi-Tech Pro Shop (“Service Provider”) as the service provider.
2. Promotion Period of the Program is from 1st October 2025 to 30th September 2026 (both dates are inclusive) (the “Promotion Period”).
3. Upon choosing to participate in the Program, the participants shall be deemed to have read, understood and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions (this “Agreement”). For the purpose of this Agreement, “participant(s)” and “you” are used interchangeably.
Eligibility
4. To be eligible for the Program, participants must purchase designated Canon cameras and/or lenses (“Canon Selected Products”) at Canon Image Square or Online Store during the Promotion Period.
5. The list of Canon Selected Products may be subject to updates from time to time during the Promotion Period without prior notice to the participants. For details and latest updates of Canon Selected Products, please refer to https://hk.canon/consumer/web/tradein (“Designated Website”).
6. Each transaction may only participate in the Program once notwithstanding the number of items in the purchase. The total Trade-in Value (as defined below) must not exceed the value of the transaction.
7. Canon has the sole and absolute discretion to decide whether to provide trade-in services (“Services”) and Canon may reject application from any person without giving any reason.
Arrangement of the Services
8. For purchase at Canon Image Square, participants shall at time of collection of Canon Selected Products at Canon Image Square offer eligible items (see further elaboration below) (“Trade-in Item(s)”) that are intended for the Services.
9. For purchase at Online Store, participants shall within 30 days of receipt of Canon Selected Products attend Canon Image Square in person, present the order confirmation email of respective Canon Selected Products and offer eligible Trade-in Item(s) that are intended for the Services.
10. Participants agree to and Canon shall share information of the Trade-in Item(s) with Service Provider, including but not limited to brand name, model and photos, for real-time evaluation and then revert with price offer for collecting the Trade-in Item(s) (“Trade-in Value”).
11. If participant accepts the Trade-in Value and both participant and Canon confirm to proceed with the Services, Canon will collect the Trade-in Item(s). Participant agrees that Canon shall thereafter pass the Trade-in Item(s) to the Service Provider.
12. Canon has the sole and absolute discretion to decide to settle Trade-in Value in cash or set off against outstanding payment of the relevant Canon Selected Products.
13. The actual Trade-in Value would depend on the condition of the Trade-in Item(s) offered by the participant(s) and may deviate from the reference value stated on Designated Website (see further elaboration below).
14. All Trade-in Value are subject to the real-time quotation from the Service Provider and is only valid on the day of issuance.
15. If the Service Provider or the participant fails to respond in reasonable time, Canon reserves the right to reject the participant’s request for Services at its sole and absolute discretion.
16. Under no circumstances will Trade-in Item(s) be returned after collection by Canon.
Requirements of Items
17. Only designated brands and models of cameras and lenses are eligible for the Services. The list of eligible cameras and/or lenses and/or their reference value may be subject to updates from time to time during the Promotion Period without prior notice to the participants. For details and latest updates, please refer to the Designated Website.
18. Cameras submitted for trade-in must include the battery and are in normal working condition enabling proper performance.
19. No non-original or modified cameras and/or lenses will be accepted.
20. All Trade-in Item(s) shall be subject to inspection and evaluation by Canon and/or Service Provider to confirm the conditions. Canon reserves the right to accept or reject the participant’s request for Services or offer any Trade-in Value at its sole and absolute discretion.
21. By offering the Trade-in Item(s), participant(s) undertake and warrant that: (a) The Trade-in Item(s) are legally owned by the participant(s). (b) The participant(s) have full power, capacity and authority to dispose of the Trade-in Item(s) at own discretion. (c) The offering of Trade-in Item(s) for the Services will not infringe upon the rights of any third party or constitute breach of any contract or laws. (d) All personal data/image/video/data of any other form have been permanently removed from the Trade-in Item(s). Canon shall not be liable for any data loss or leakage after collection of the Trade-in Item(s).
Miscellaneous
22. Canon’s decision as to entitlement and availability of the Services shall be final and binding on the participants.
23. Canon reserves the sole and absolute right to disqualify or exclude any participant from participating in the Program without prior notice, if the participant: (a) commits a breach of this Agreement; (b) provides untrue, incomplete or inconsistent personal information; (c) participates in the Program and/or Services in any illegal or dishonest manner; or (d) is reasonably considered by Canon to be suitable to be disqualified or excluded.
24. If due to any reason, including but not limited to failure to respond from the Service Provider, Canon is unable to provide the Services, Canon reserves the right to, at its sole and absolute discretion, suspend the Program and/or Services without prior notice.
25. Participant irrevocably agrees to fully indemnify and hold Canon harmless at all times from and against any and all liabilities, claims, damages, losses and expenses arising from and in relation to any Trade-in Items and/or content and data therein. Canon disclaims any and all liabilities arising from or in connection thereof.
26. There is no contract of employment, relationship of agency or partnership, or joint venture between Canon and any third party service provider. Canon shall not be responsible for any legal liability in respect of any services provided by third party or any loss or damage arising therefrom. Canon makes no representation or warranty as to any third party services.
27. Participant acknowledges and agrees to the collection, use, storage, transfer and/or processing of personal data by Canon for the purpose related to the Services. Canon will handle any personal data provided by the participant in accordance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) and Canon’s privacy policy amended from time to time. 28. Canon shall not be liable to participants for any loss, damage, cost and expense directly or indirectly suffered by participants (including but not limited to, loss of profit, loss of saving, loss of goodwill, loss of revenue or loss of contract, whether anticipated or actual, or any special indirect or consequential damages of any nature whatsoever) or any action, claim and proceeding taken against participants by any third party or parties in connection with, incidental to and consequential upon the performance of Canon, its employees, independent contractors, and/or partners in relation to the Program. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary, to the extent permitted by law, Canon’s total aggregate liability in contract, tort, equity or otherwise for any loss or damage arising out of or in connection with the Program shall be limited to HK$100.
29. In case of any dispute, Canon reserves the right of final decision.
30. Canon shall have the sole and absolute right towards the Program, including the right to cancel, postpone or change any details of the Program without prior notice to any parties.
31. Canon reserves the right to amend, delete, supplement and interpret this Agreement from time to time.
32. Any failure or delay by Canon to exercise or enforce any right under this Agreement shall not be deemed to be a waiver of that right nor operate to bar the exercise or enforcement of it at any time or times thereafter.
33. Each provision of this Agreement shall be enforceable independently of each of the others and its validity shall not be affected if any of the others is invalid. In the event any provision of this Agreement is determined to be illegal, invalid or unenforceable, the validity, legality and enforceability of the remaining provisions of this Agreement shall not be affected.
34. A person who is not a participant in the Program has no right at law to enforce any provision of this Agreement.
35. This Agreement shall be governed and interpreted by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China (“Hong Kong”). Participants hereby irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Hong Kong Courts in connection with any disputes arising from or in connection with this Agreement.
36. This Agreement is prepared in English and the Chinese translation is provided for reference only. In case of any inconsistency or ambiguity, the English version shall prevail.
