Canon Unveils the New APS-C EOS R Mirrorless Cameras EOS R7 and EOS R10 and New RF-S Lenses

Emphasizing High performance and High Image Quality to expand the EOS R System

HONG KONG, 24th May 2022 — Canon today announced the launch of the New APS-C EOS R mirrorless cameras EOS R7 and EOS R10. Launched in 2018, the EOS R system has been well received by professional photographers and photography enthusiasts for the outstanding optical performance of RF Lenses and the high image quality, advanced functions and uncompromised reliability of EOS R Full Frame cameras. Canon now further expands the EOS R system’s high image quality and advanced functions to APS-C cameras, and debut EOS R-series APS-C cameras — EOS R7 and EOS R10.EOS R7 and EOS R10, inheriting the advanced subject recognition and tracking auto focus system from the renowned EOS R3, feature high speed continuous shooting up to 30FPS and 23FPS[1] respectively and other advanced functions to expand the realm of photography for photo enthusiast and photo amateurs.

Canon at the same time also announced the new RF-S Lens Series developed exclusively for the EOS R Series APS-C cameras - RF-S 18-45mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM and RF-S 18-150mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM. Like the EF-S and EF-M lenses, it has an image circle that covers APS-C size image sensors, enabling the development of compact and lightweight lenses. The RF-S lenses inherit the short back focus benefit of the RF Mount and result in size reduction comparing to EF-S lenses. The RF Mount’s high speed communication also improves image stabilization and the Digital Lens Optimizer (DLO) function to achieve outstanding image quality and functionality. With the newly launched EOS R7, EOS R10 and the new RF-S lenses, more users can now enjoy the benefits of the EOS R system and provide them with an extreme amount of versatility for their photography and video needs.
