Canon Hong Kong Received Two Prestigious Awards at the Ming Pao ESG Awards for Four Consecutive Years

In the face of intensifying climate change and rising operational uncertainties, the “Environmental, Social and Governance” (ESG) framework has become ever more critical. As a responsible corporate citizen, Canon integrates ESG principles across its product lifecycle and business operations to drive sustainable development. Canon Hongkong Company Limited (Canon Hong Kong) has consistently been recognized for excellence in ESG. We are proud to receive two awards in the "Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance Awards" of Ming Pao for four consecutive years, earning 2026 “Award for Excellence in ESG” and “Elite of Sustainability Performance Award”. 

Upholding the corporate philosophy of “Kyosei”, Canon Hong Kong is committed to incorporating sustainability into our business operations and corporate activities guided by the principle of “Canon Group Environmental Charter”. We host the “Green Intelligence Office Tour”, welcoming business partners to visit our green and smart office to explore the possibilities of intelligent business solutions. Through one-stop intelligent business solutions, we empower corporate clients to enhance efficiency and ESG performance by leveraging AI to automate workflows, thereby minimizing paper consumption and carbon emissions. As of June 2026, we have organized 39 tours for more than 300 organizations. 

We have launched the "Ink Cartridge Recycling Program" since 2009, setting up over 300 recycling boxes across Hong Kong to encourage recycling habits. To further raise environmental awareness among the younger generation, we extended the program to the education sector in 2011, organizing the annual "Canon x McDull Inter-school Ink Cartridge Recycling Competition" and environmental seminars for primary and secondary schools. Over the years, we have collected more than 295,000 ink cartridges. 

In addition, the Canon Hong Kong Corporate Volunteer Team, established in 2015, has actively engaged in diverse corporate social responsibility activities, including beach clean-ups, ecological conservation, tree planting, blood donation, food donation, and complimentary photo shoot and print services for charities. In 2025, we further introduced the “1-Staff-1-Service” initiative, encouraging every colleague to dedicate time during working hours to meaningful community service, contributing a total of 847 volunteer hours. 

To demonstrate our progress in sustainability, we have voluntarily published the annual ESG Report (Click here), which comprehensively covers Canon Hong Kong's commitments and measures towards sustainable development. We have also engaged independent third-party consultants to verify our carbon emission data, ensuring transparency and alignment with market trends and ESG best practices. 

The Ming Pao ESG Awards, jointly organized by the Ming Pao Newspaper and the Institute of ESG and Benchmark, aim to recognize Hong Kong enterprises that demonstrate outstanding ESG performance and make positive contributions to society. A panel of judges from various sectors, the government and academia assess the companies' sustainability strategies, implementation and disclosure of progress in choosing individual award winners.
