HONG KONG, 27 March 2026 – Canon today announced the new MAXIFY GX7170 MegaTank business printer is designed for small and mid-size offices. In addition to carrying out low-cost colour printing at high volumes, this printer is also designed to deliver water-resistant printouts. By combining speed and productivity with laser printer-like performance, the new MAXIFY MegaTank business printers can help businesses increase workplace productivity.
Laser-Like Document Quality
With an all-pigment ink formulation, the new MegaTank business printers produce laser-like colour intensity, high contrast, sharp lines and text. Even if text and images are exposed to water spills or highlighter marks, they can still resist smudging, bleeding, or fading1, making them durable and long-lasting.
Built for Business Productivity
MAXIFY GX7170 supports auto duplex print function to save paper resources and printing cost, as well as to enhance office efficiency by making multiple-page documents and reports neat and easy to read. Coupled with the capability to print double or even quadruple on a single sheet of paper, paper usage can be further reduced for a greener office. Catering to the high-volume print needs in the office, MAXIFY GX7170 features two paper cassettes and rear tray, offering a total capacity of 600 sheets of plain paper. The high-capacity paper supply can eliminate the hassle of the frequent need to refill paper. Besides, the paper cassettes are compatible with different paper sizes to meet the needs of different types of printing.
The device also includes a 50-sheet Auto Document Feeder (ADF) for convenient multi-page scanning and copying. Furthermore, it features a single-pass auto duplex scan function that captures both sides of a document in one go, eliminating the need to flip pages or perform two separate scans. This greatly enhances the efficiency of double-sided scanning and copying tasks.
A full set of inks can deliver up to 14,0002 pages in colour and up to 6,0002 pages in monochrome. MAXIFY GX7170 have an Economy mode print setting that extends page yields, allowing them to print up to 21,0003 pages in colour and up to 9,0003 pages in monochrome for even greater cost savings. The printer is also easy to maintain as it has an easily replaceable maintenance cartridge design that minimises operational downtime.
Full Network Connectivity with Enhanced Data Security
On top of wired LAN connectivity, the new MAXIFY GX7170 also support Wi-Fi, ensuring wireless connectivity for multiple office workgroup members at any time. For data security, users are protected against data snooping with TLS 1.3, which provides additional layers of encryption. The printers also feature the latest WPA3-Enterprise for faster and more secure server authentication.
