    EOS R50 V with RF-S14-30mm F4-6.3 IS STM PZ Lens Kit (Black/White)

HONG KONG, 24th April 2025 — Canon officially launches the first model in the new EOS V series APS-C mirrorless camera EOS R50 V and its kit lens, the first RF Lens with Built-in Power Zoom RF-S14-30mm F4-6.3 IS STM PZ. The mission of the new EOS V series is to answer the creative needs of the new generation, especially young people, that cannot be fully met with the existing line. This new EOS V series offers core technologies that maintain the strong points of the EOS R series while providing creative movie functions that stimulate the artistic ambitions of creators. Together with the PowerShot V series, the EOS V series will support the video market in ways that cannot be covered by the existing lineup alone.

    Video-Centric Ergonomics
The EOS R50 V is a video-centric interchangeable lens camera designed for social media content creators looking to expand their visual expression. It features a simple flat and linear body design optimized for video shooting with video features inherited from Cinema EOS series, advanced subject recognition and tracking autofocus, high speed and high image quality to meet the creative needs of the new generation of content creators, especially for shooting Vlogs and travel videos for social media content. The EOS R50 V is optimised for vertical shooting with its vertical shooting tripod socket on the side, an auto-rotating shooting information display, a grip design and button layout. These features allow users to conveniently start and stop recording even when shooting vertically. There is also a new video-centric button and control layout that includes a movie-focused mode dial, dedicated buttons providing one-touch access to livestreaming and colour modes.

    Rich Creative Features
The EOS R50 V captures cinematic 4K UHD 30p video with rich detail and vibrant colour, powered by 6K oversampling and the advanced debayer algorithm inherited from the CINEMA EOS series. For fast-paced scenes or smooth motion, switch to 4K Crop UHD 60p and enjoy smooth recording. Both 4K formats can be recorded in 10-bit internally. With ISO 12,800, expandable to 25,600, the EOS R50 V delivers reliable high quality low-light video performance.

In addition, there are 14 colour filters that allow users to adjust the look of their footage in-camera, a new Slow & Fast Motion movie mode to create 4K slow-motion and fast-motion videos[1] that play back at 1/2.5x speed and 60x speed respectively. These features will help creators make stunning, cinematic videos easily.

    Professional Workflow Readiness
In addition to the existing picture styles and color filters, EOS R50 V newly incorporates Custom Picture (CP) color preset from Cinema EOS, EOS R1 and EOS R5 Mark II, 5 CP Presets (Canon 709 / Canon Log 3 / PQ / HLG / BT.709 Standard) and 15 User settings are provided. Also, EOS R50 V’s Canon Log 3 provides 13+ stop dynamic range[2] for shooting rich gradation movies with a wide dynamic range. The EOS R50 V prepares advanced users for a more professional post-production workflow that is found on more advanced EOS R series cameras such as the EOS R5 Mark II and EOS R1. Record in your preferred workflow using XF-HEVC S or XF-AVC S codecs for efficient, high-quality editing.

In terms of audio, the EOS R50 V is equipped with 3-mic array with Noise Cancelling feature[3] for capturing clear, natural sound while minimising mechanical noise. Support for LPCM 24-bit 4-channel audio input eases the post-processing workflow for projects with multiple audio sources such as interviews, back ambient sound, or concerts.

    High-Quality Livestreaming
There is a new “LIVE button” that have been added to the EOS R50 V, allowing creators to carry out livestreaming directly. Users can choose from four flexible streaming methods - direct USB-C (UVC/UAV), HDMI with switcher support, Camera Connect App and Live Switcher Mobile app—giving creators the freedom to go live their way, whether solo or in a multi-cam setup. Creators can apply the Smooth Skin Movie mode to reduce blemishes and pores, and Movie for Close-Up Demos AF to ensures fast, accurate focus shifts between your face and the products you showcase. This is perfect for beauty, tutorials, reviews, and livestreams.

RF-S14-30mm F4-6.3 IS STM PZ: First Lens with Built-In Power Zoom
Compact and lightweight at just around 62mm long and approximately 181g, the RF-S14-30mm F4-6.3 IS STM PZ is Canon’s first-ever RF lens with built-in power zooming. Users can perform controlled servo zooming with either the lens’ zoom ring or zoom lever on the EOS R50 V. There are 15 speed values that can be selected in a 2-level switch operation[4]. The fixed-length design keeps the centre of gravity consistent when zooming, which is important when one is working with a gimbal or other similar equipment.

The lens offers up to 5.0-stop[5] shake compensation at center, when paired with EOS R-series cameras featuring In-Body Image Stabilization, up to 7.5-stop shake compensation at center and 5.5-stop in peripheral[6] can be achieved through Coordinated Control IS.

Compatible with all EOS-R Series Cameras[7] with a focal length equivalent to approx. 22.4mm-48mm in 35mm full-frame format[8], covering a wide range of situations from selfies to cinematic visuals. It zooms in to 30mm (48mm equivalent) at its long end, creating flattering, natural-looking close-up shots of faces. The lens also offers 0.15m closest focusing distance and 0.38x maximum magnification, which are ideal for creators who need to showcase products and details closeup.
