Canon Hong Kong Reaffirms Commitment to Sustainability with Food Donation and Mooncake Recycling for a Green Mid-Autumn Festival

Canon Hong Kong has partnered with Food Grace for the second consecutive year and joined nearly 300 companies in signing the “Mid-Autumn Gift Wise Charter”, pledging to send mooncakes as gifts only when it is necessary as well as to consider any alternatives or low-carbon forms of festive blessings. In addition, we encouraged colleagues to turn their care into meaningful Mid-Autumn gifts by donating food and unopened, individually packaged mooncakes. These donations were delivered by Food Grace to underprivileged families and people in need. This year’s mooncake recycling initiative received strong support from 370 housing estates, shopping malls and corporations, collecting over 8,000 mooncakes and bringing warmth and care throughout the festive season.

Furthermore, we continued to support Greeners Action’s “Mooncake Box Recycling Campaign.” The collected mooncake boxes were properly processed by recyclers for local reuse, helping reduce waste, carbon emissions, and easing the burden on our planet. Now in its 13th year, the campaign has garnered widespread support from the community and citizens, with more than 80,000 mooncake boxes recycled to date.
