Canon Officially launches Speedlite EL-10 High Performance Compact Speedlite for Multi-Function Shoe
18 Jul 2024 — HONGKONG, 18th July 2024 – Canon today announced the official release of the Speedlite EL-10, a high-performance compact flash designed for multifunction shoes[1]. The Speedlite EL-10 offers powerful flash output with maximum Guide No. 40[2], allowing it to capture clear and bright images of distant subjects more easily than built-in flashes. Designed for Multifunction Shoes The Speedlite EL-10 is designed for multifunction shoes, enhancing compatibility and functionality with EOS R series cameras. When used with cameras like the EOS R6 Mark II, EOS R8, and EOS R50, it offers numerous coordinated functions to meet users' needs. The flash can also adjust its coverage based on the lens focal length automatically, covering a range of 24-105mm and extendable to 14mm[3] with built-in wide panel. With a flexible, rotatable flash head supporting bounce flash angles of 90˚ upward, 180˚ to the right, and 150˚ to the left, it allows easy adjustment of light output angles during shooting. Powerful Flash Output Powered by four AA batteries, the Speedlite EL-10 can provide approximately 210 to 1400 flashes[4]. Its recharging time is shortened to approx. 0.1 to 2.5 sec4 thanks to the optimized main capacitor, also the improved circuit board heat dissipation enables 65 times or more continuous full power[5]. The Speedlite EL-10 also supports 11-stop of manual output with minimum 1/1024 flash output, enabling users to adjust the light output flexibly according to their needs. With outstanding performance, the Speedlite EL-10 is an ideal choice for photography enthusiasts, helping to elevate their photography to the next level with the aid of the flash. Versatility and Flexible Operation For experienced users seeking versatility and flexible operation in a flash, the Speedlite EL-10 also meets their needs. It features built-in 2.4GHz wireless transmission with wireless flash "Sender" and "Receiver" functions[6], making multi-flash wireless shooting easy with an effective range of about 30 meters. It offers 15 channels and 10,000 wireless IDs to prevent interference. 2nd curtain sync[7] radio transmission wireless flash is also supported. Users can enjoy the freedom of off-camera flash photography with the Speedlite EL-10 when paired with the Speedlite Transmitter ST-E10 or other compatible Speedlite as the sender unit. Canon unveils 2 Futuristic Full-Frame Mirrorless Cameras with AI Technology - EOS R1 & EOS R5 Mark II
17 Jul 2024 — HONGKONG, 17th July 2024 – Canon today announced 2 new futuristic full-frame mirrorless cameras with groundbreaking AI technologies, the EOS R1 – Canon’s flagship EOS R system camera, it is made for photojournalists and professionals in the field of sport, events and wildlife photography; and the EOS R5 Mark II – high-speed 8K hybrid full frame EOS R mirrorless camera, it is made for professional photographers, advanced photo amateurs and content creators. Both EOS R1 & EOS R5 Mark II have evolved with new technologies and innovative features, leading users to a powerful, reliable and rapid new photography era. With the new Accelerated Capture system, the most powerful image processor system in EOS History, combining the newly developed stacked CMOS Sensor and, new DIGIC Accelerator alongside the renowned and DIGIC X image processor to provide a unprecedent processing speed, improved image quality and AF precision. Accelerated Capture technology can process large volumes of data from the sensor at high speeds with processing and analysis technologies based on deep learning for AE / AF detection by DIGIC Accelerator to provide various advancements including improved image quality, speed, and AF precision. Professionals shooting events and concerts will benefit from the Register People Priority function, users can preregister up to 10 characters in the camera, when there are multiple people in the AF area / point, it prioritises the preregistered person[2] for subject detection. The new cameras are designed for seamless control and operation, enabling better responsiveness to dynamic situations. Both EOS R1 & EOS R5 Mark II incorporate upgraded Eye Control AF[3], when a photographer is looking in the view finder, it can control the AF frame based on the detection of eye movement and the photographer's gaze, making quick AF transition between subjects possible. Eye detection is now improved to enable more stable detection and faster tracking of eye movement. Also, with the new In-Camera Upscaling function which uses deep learning algorithms, photographers can do in-cam cropping directly after shooting and increases the number of pixels by 4 times from JPEG / HEIF images[4] after shooting while maintaining apparent resolution. This simplified flow will help photographers achieve high-quality extreme crops on the spot without using other devices. 28 Jun 2024 — HONGKONG, 28th June 2024 — Canon officially launches the new compact ultra-fast f/1.4 wide angle RF lens designed for Hybrid Shooting, RF35mm F1.4 L VCM. This compact lens features a high mobility design with a length of 99.3mm and a weight of 555g. It offers stunning visuals, ease of use, dependability, and high performance for both video and still production— to meet the needs of professional production and serve as a differentiating factor for content creation. Superior Image Quality The 35mm focal length of RF35mm F1.4 L VCM is close to the natural human angle of vision, which is suitable for a wide range of photography. RF35mm F1.4 L VCM ‘s f/1.4 maximum aperture gives a rich bokeh effect. It also enables a faster shutter speed or lower ISO for low-light conditions. In addition, its 11-blade circular aperture creates a cinematic out-of-focus effect.
