The EOS R6 Mark III features a higher 32.5 MP resolution and improved speed, performance, and reliability. It also incorporates powerful video capabilities that support professional workflows. The new EOS R6 Mark III sets a new standard in mid-range mirrorless full frame camera performance with advanced photo and video features.

Capture breathtaking photos with the new 32.5 MP full-frame CMOS sensor. Powered by the Dual Pixel CMOS AF II, the EOS R6 Mark III delivers fast, accurate, and reliable autofocus for both stills and video — seamless tracking and perfect focus. EOS R6 Mark III is perfect for advanced photo amateurs and content creators to create travel, wildlife, sports, transportation photography, landscape and Video creation.

Higher Resolution and Speed
With the EOS R6 Mark III ’s 32.5 MP resolution, finer details can be captured in higher definition but with more cropping flexibility. The higher megapixel count comes in useful when it comes to a close crop of faraway subjects. Despite the higher processing load, the EOS R6 Mark III shoots up to 40 FPS[1] with electronic shutter[2], also supports pre-continuous shooting[3] that captures up to 20 frames before fully pressing the shutter button, ensuring every decisive moment is preserved in stunning detail. The EOS R6 Mark III can burst up to approx. 330 JPEGs or capture up to approximately 150 RAW[4] possible shots during 40 FPS High-speed continuous shooting+, thanks to enhanced buffer.

It also features improved 5-axis In-Body Image Stabilization which provides up to 8.5-stop shake compensation at center and 7.5-stop shake compensation at peripheral[5] with new algorithm. Peripherical coordinated control is also supported with compatible lens.

Advanced subject recognition and tracking auto focus
The EOS R6 Mark III renowned “Dual Pixel CMOS AF II” technology with 1053 AF zones and up to 100% AF coverage area[6]. EOS R6 Mark III features AF algorithm developed using Deep Learning technology for high performance Subject Recognition and AF tracking of People, Animals (dogs, cats, birds and horses) [7] and Vehicles (motorsports (automobile/motorcycle), train and airplane) [8]. Its intelligent algorithm reads faces, eyes, heads, and bodies in real time—holding sharp focus even as subjects turn away or move unpredictably. Its enhanced algorithm also improves AF stability over the EOS R6 Mark II for people and animal.

The EOS R6 Mark III also inherits the Register People Priority function found in the EOS R3, allowing pre-registered people to be prioritised for detection and tracking when shooting photos or videos in group situations such as events, concerts, or team sports. With Register People Priority, store up to 10 familiar faces so the camera instantly recognises and prioritises your key subjects[9], shoot after shoot. The result is effortless, human-aware autofocus that anticipates movement and captures every moment with clarity and emotion—keeping your story sharp, expressive, and always in focus.

In movie shooting, the EOS R6 Mark III’s Movie Servo AF features the focusing acceleration/deceleration algorithm found in the Cinema EOS C400 / C80 / C50 that recreates the deliberate focus control of professional camera operators. This uses autofocus to replicate the smooth focusing work of an expert focus operator, responding to the visual expression needs of creatives. The Movie Servo AF speed can be adjusted to ten levels from slow to fast to suit the situation and subject movement, making shooting smoother and more accurate. Subject switching sensitivity can also be customized to five levels.

A Leap in Video Capabilities with Open Gate Recording
The EOS R6 Mark III support internal recording of 7K Open Gate (3:2) 30p 12-bit RAW Movie (6960 x 4640) or 7K Open Gate (3:2) 30p MP4 (6912 x 4608) with 1920 x 1280 MP4 Proxy. This captures every pixel across the full sensor—ideal for flexible reframing in both horizontal and vertical formats. Whether creating cinematic widescreen films or social-ready vertical edits, every frame starts with 7K clarity.

EOS R6 Mark III also offers advanced options for diverse workflows, including internal recording of 7K 60p RAW (Light) using DCI (17:9) aspect ratio of the full-frame sensor. Every pixel delivers extraordinary detail and natural depth with complete 12-bit tonal integrity. The efficient RAW (Light) format keeps file sizes manageable without sacrificing flexibility. Adjust exposure, ISO, and white balance freely during grading.

Moreover, the EOS R6 Mark III supports high quality non-cropped oversampled 4K DCI/UHD Fine 60p/30p MP4[10] and non-cropped 3.5K oversampled 2K DCI/FHD Fine 60p MP4. Oversampling[11] delivers exceptional footage with enhanced sharpness, reduced moiré, false color and noise. By capturing more data than the final resolution requires, it produces cleaner, more detailed images with smoother gradations and more accurate colours—perfect for cinematic storytelling, professional interviews, and high-end documentaries. The EOS R6 Mark III also capture up to 4K DCI/UHD MP4 movies up to 120p with audio[12]. These movies can be used as slow-motion footage during post-editing, while also producing movies that play at normal speed. Therefore, by recording a single movie, both normal speed and slow-motion movies can be created simultaneously.

The newly added Slow & Fast-Motion Movie Mode[13] lets users easily create emotion-filled images through techniques such as slowing down fast movements, compressing the passage of time, or capturing a subjective POV (Point of View). Settings are enabled from 60x fast (NTSC) to 5x slow (NTSC) in 4K DCI/UHD, and from 60x fast (NTSC) to 7.5x slow (NTSC) in 2K DCI/Full HD.

Uncompromised Motion Storytelling
In addition to existing Picture Style, the EOS R6 Mark III also includes Custom Picture originating from the EOS Cinema Series and Color Filter from the EOS V series, allowing users to choose from different image creation styles.

The Color Filter feature, a first for the EOS R series Full Frame mirrorless camera, allows users to easily apply 14-type of Color Filter effects while checking the actual color and atmosphere of the image with the viewfinder or monitor. Even those without knowledge of color grading can create impressive video or images (without RAW development) using only the camera. This feature is useful for simple projects, events, social media posts, and other uses where instant delivery is needed, and it allows users to craft images according to their own imaginations, even straight out of camera. Canon’s amazing color tones can be applied to easily provide the experience of being a true creator with creative expressive capabilities.

The Custom Picture, a common feature with the Cinema EOS series, provides 6 CP Presets (Canon 709 / Canon Log 2 / Canon Log 3 / PQ / HLG / BT.709 Standard) and 14 User setting for users to select the best gamma and color space for their intended use. For example, users can select BT.709-based settings and HDR settings that can be used straight out of camera (SOOC) without the need for color grading, enabling imaging that is compatible with the Cinema EOS series. As a feature unique to Custom Picture, it is possible to configure knee, black gamma, detailed color and contrast, and other settings.

The EOS R6 Mark III achieve film-like latitude with Canon Log 2 and Log 3, supporting up to 15+ stops of dynamic range[14] and seamless integration with the Cinema EOS series. EOS R6 Mark III also supports importing 3D LUT from the new Canon LUT library website. Apply a LUT of choice to movies shot with the EOS R6 Mark III with Look File settings to convert it to a desired color style. LUTs set in Look File settings can be recorded in movies as well as displayed on the LCD monitor, making post-shoot grading more efficient. These streamlines grading work, which can be a challenge for entry-level videographers, and allows users to upgrade their visual works.

Like the EOS R5 Mark II, the EOS R6 Mark III supports waveform monitor display, in addition to false colours and zebras to check and achieve accurate exposure on set. New features like the AWB Response and Shockless WB enable seamless white balance transitions during video shooting regardless the AWB is utilised, or the white balance is manually adjusted.

Enhanced Design & Operability
The EOS R6 Mark III retains the basic operability, reliability, and durable body design of the EOS R6 Mark II, with enhanced button customisation as found in EOS R1 and EOS R5 Mark II. The EOS R6 Mark III utilises premium magnesium alloy for the chassis and the back cover, delivering exceptional structural rigidity while maintaining a lightweight profile. This advanced material also facilitates efficient heat dissipation and delivers consistent performance during video recording. In addition, EOS R6 Mark III’s high precision shutter unit comes with a 500,000-cycle[15] durability and its dust-and-water resistant[16] body ensures reliability required by advanced amateurs.

EOS R6 Mark III uses the advanced LP-E6P[17] battery that delivers 2130 mAh capacity with an impressive 6A maximum continuous discharge current, providing the sustained power required for high-performance features such as 7K recording and high-frame-rate video capture. For extended shooting sessions, the EOS R6 Mark III is compatible with the Battery Grip BG-R20, which accommodates two batteries and improves ergonomics and control when shooting in vertical orientation.
