Canon Officially Launches the New EOS M6 Mark II

The Ultra-High Speed 4K Compact Mirrorless Camera to Capture Fleetingly-Fast Moments

HONG KONG, 26 SEP 2019 — Canon Hongkong today announces the new EOS M6 Mark II is available for sale. As an ultra-high-speed mirrorless camera for photo enthusiasts to catch fleetingly-fast moment, EOS M6 Mark II is equipped with 14 FPS ultra-high-speed continuous shooting, approx. 32-megapixel high resolution and advanced control in a compact body. With a host of new features for both photo and video, EOS M6 Mark II is an ideal camera for shooting motions like kids and pets actions, amateur sports, travel and 4K Vlog.

Never Miss a Moment with the 14 FPS Ultra-High Speed Shooting

EOS M6 Mark II adopts a new shutter unit with high-torque shutter-charging motor to enable 14 FPS ultra-high-speed continuous shooting with AF tracking (SERVO AF) which is a breakthrough in APS-C camera. In addition, it also supports a new 30FPS RAW Burst mode[1] with AF tracking and 0.5 sec. pre-shooting function for user to capture split-second action in sequence images like movie. With the improvement in processing power, “blackout” does not occur during high-speed continuous shooting which allows users to track subjects with irregular movement more easily without missing the perfect moment.

A New High Resolution 32.5-megapixel APS-C CMOS Sensor

EOS M6 Mark II is equipped with a new approx. 32.5-megapixel APS-C size CMOS image sensor designed by Canon with high readout speed to deliver high resolution images even even shooting in high speed. The higher resolution allows users to take images with more details and crop further even on an APS-C format camera. With the DIGIC 8 digital imaging processor, EOS M6 Mark II is enabled with latest features from the EOS range and offer a standard ISO range of 100–25600 (expandable to 51200) to shoot high quality images even in low-light environment.

Enhanced “Dual Pixel CMOS AF” and Supports Eye Detection AF

Canon’s renowned “Dual Pixel CMOS AF (DAF)” technology is incorporated to deliver the best AF performance. DAF offers an 88% (horizontal) x 100% (vertical) wide AF area[2] on screen with maximum 5,481 selectable AF point positions[3] and able to shoot in low light conditions as dark as EV-5[4]. In addition, “Eye Detection AF” is added to DAF for both photo and video shooting which ensures subject’s eye is always in focus especially when using a large aperture lens such as EF-M 32mm f/1.4 STM to capture portraits. EOS M6 Mark II also features an electronic shutter mode which enables silent shooting with a maximum shutter speed of 1/16000 second to capture fleetingly-fast moments in sharp detail.

High Quality Video Content in 4K UHD Resolution

EOS M6 Mark II is capable to record uncropped 4K UHD 30p movie which can utilize the actual angle of view of the lens attached. It also supports Full HD 120p high frame rate movie recording[5] giving enthusiasts to capture slow motion movie. For users who enjoy shooting stunning landscape, beautiful time-lapse videos can be created in 4K easily with the Time-lapse Movie mode.

Advanced Control in a Compact Body

Features originated from EOS R system are added to EOS M6 Mark II to enhance its operability including the “DIAL function” and “Fv Flexible Priority mode”. To take full advantage of the improvement in continuous shooting and AF capability, an “AF-ON button” and “Focus model switch” are also newly added to work with the 3 individuals dials for advanced control while inheriting the EOS M series concept of “compact, lightweight and easy to carry around”.
