This 600mm super-telephoto single-focal-length L lens is now available with the long-awaited RF mount for professionals and advanced amateurs. The optical system of the EF600mm f/4L IS III USM has been succeeded with a design that reduces the weight of both the optical and the mechanical components. The optical components from the second lens onward have been consolidated in a compact and lightweight design, utilizing fluorite and Super Ultra-low Dispersion (UD) lenses. This also delivers high-resolution and high-contrast imaging performance. Despite its 600mm telephoto range, the lens’ IS mechanism offers image stabilization equivalent to a 5.5-stop* increase in shutter speed. The lens is equipped with a switch that allows the user to select from three manual focus speeds, and a thermal barrier coating to prevent the lens body from accumulating heat, when used in the hot sun.
