    Canon Hong Kong Fully Supports the ‘Paper Saving Campaign’ Organized by World Green Organisation

    WGO employed Consumer Search Group (CSG), to interview 500 Hong Kong citizens who aged above 18 from mid-August to the end of August in 2018, about their daily habit on paper consumer. According to the survey results, it can be estimated that Hong Kong people consume over 65.1 million of disposable tissues, over 29 million of paper towels and over 9.8 million of wet wipes, with a total weight of 175.76 metric tons every day, it equivalent to the weight of approximately 12.5 buses. However due to hygiene problem and other substances added during production, these types of paper products cannot be recycled and caused huge burden of landfill.
    In line with Canon’s corporate philosophy “Kyosei”, Canon Hongkong Company Limited (Canon HK) fully supports the ‘Paper Saving Campaign’ and ‘Paper Saving Day’ on 15th July 2019, organized by World Green Organization (WGO), join hands together with Hong Kong citizens, enterprises and commercial parties to reduce unnecessary paper consumption. The Paper Saving Day is expected to save 244 tons of greenhouse gas emissions which equivalent to the amount of over 10,000 trees’ annual carbon sequestration. Meanwhile, Canon HK also provides different kinds of solutions that help small and medium enterprises to go green in office, avoid unnecessary printing and save running cost.
